How Maia Baby Works

Intracervical insemination (ICI) is a common method of artificial insemination that involves placing semen directly near the cervix, closely mimicking natural intercourse. We’ve specially designed an insemination applicator, called the Maia Applicator™, which is included in our kit to help deliver sperm close to the cervix.

ICI is sometimes used by individuals or couples experiencing fertility challenges, including male-factor infertility, cervical factors, or unexplained infertility. In certain situations, it may be considered as an alternative method to natural conception attempts.

For single women, same-sex female couples or those utilising donor sperm, ICI serves as a viable method to achieve pregnancy.

ICI is generally less invasive and more affordable than other assisted reproductive technologies like intrauterine insemination (IUI) or in vitro fertilisation (IVF), making it an accessible option for many.
